Amazon Nova最新消息：根據彭博社報導，Amazon正把旗下大部分Amazon Nova模型打入「維護模式」，抽調工程師與運算資源去賭一款全新的旗艦模型，同時連開發者工具Q IDE的自動完成與聊天功能也一併收攤。這代表Amazon在自研前沿AI這條路上，選擇先縮手、再賭一把大的。

Nova系列發生了什麼事？

消息指出，Amazon Nova旗下的Premier、Omni、Reel、Canvas四款模型停止積極開發，進入「維護支援」狀態——現有客戶還能用，但不會再有新功能或效能升級。被保留下來、繼續開發的只有：

  • Nova 2 Lite（輕量版文字模型）
  • Nova 2 Sonic（語音模型）
  • Nova Forge（客製化訓練服務）
  • Nova Act（瀏覽器操作代理）

省下來的人力與算力，集中投入一個由Pieter Abbeel（2024年Amazon收購機器人公司Covariant時加入）主導的新計畫，內部稱為「Frontier Model Research」，目標是在今年底的re:Invent大會前端出一款真正能打的旗艦模型。

開發者工具Q IDE也收了

New reporting on Amazon Nova shows the company quietly moving most of its own foundation models into "minimal support" mode, redirecting engineers and compute toward a single new flagship effort — while also shutting down autocomplete and chat in its Q Developer IDE. It is Amazon admitting, without saying so directly, that it is stepping back from the frontier-model race to place one big bet instead.

What Is Actually Happening to Amazon Nova

According to Bloomberg (via Futurism) and corroborated by multiple outlets, four Amazon Nova models — Premier, Omni, Reel, and Canvas — are being moved out of active development into maintenance mode: existing customers keep access, but no new features or performance upgrades are coming. Amazon is keeping only:

  • Nova 2 Lite — lightweight text model
  • Nova 2 Sonic — voice model
  • Nova Forge — custom model training service
  • Nova Act — browser automation agent

The freed-up headcount and compute are going toward a new internal effort called Frontier Model Research, led by Pieter Abbeel (who joined Amazon via its 2024 Covariant acquisition), targeting a debut around this year's re:Invent conference.

Q IDE Is Also Being Wound Down

In the same wave of cuts, Amazon is reportedly abandoning in-house code-generation model training. Q IDE's autocomplete and chat features are losing active support, with users pushed toward Kiro instead. If your team relies on Q IDE day-to-day, this is a practical signal to start planning a migration now, not a someday problem.

Why Is Amazon Scaling Back Its Own AI Models?

This comes just over three months after Amazon shut its 80-person AGI research lab in San Francisco and laid off the team in July 2026. Taken together, the pattern is clear: rather than keep burning resources trying to out-build OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google on frontier models across the board, Amazon is consolidating around enterprise AI deployment and cloud infrastructure — which also explains why Anthropic's Claude, not Nova, remains the model Amazon pushes hardest on Bedrock.

What This Means If You Use Nova or Q IDE

  • Teams on Nova Premier, Omni, Reel, or Canvas should start evaluating alternatives now rather than waiting for an official end-of-life notice
  • Q IDE users should plan a migration timeline to Kiro
  • Don't expect new Amazon Nova features anytime soon — resources have already shifted to the end-of-year flagship bet

Amazon isn't announcing "we're giving up" in a press release — it's happening quietly through maintenance-mode language. But for anyone building on these products, the message is the same either way: don't expect them to get better, and start lining up a backup plan.
