Google助理從9月4日起在Android手機、平板與Wear OS手錶上分階段停用，由Gemini全面接管「Hey Google」語音喚醒與長按電源鍵的功能。這不是選配升級，而是強制汰換——沒有「繼續使用舊版」的按鈕，轉換完成後就回不去了。整個過程會拖上好幾週，同一款手機在你和朋友手上可能還會前後腳收到通知。

這次停用影響哪些裝置？

Android手機與平板（符合最低系統需求、且在支援地區）
Wear OS智慧手錶
支援語音喚醒的藍牙耳機
手機投影的Android Auto（注意：僅限手機投影，非車機內建）

暫時不受影響的裝置

Gemini接管後，實際上少了什麼？

這才是這次評測要老實講的重點——Gemini不是Google助理的無痛平移，而是功能有取有捨：

先去Google Home App把仰賴Google助理觸發的routine整理一份清單，轉換後逐一測試
常用Interpreter Mode或Family Bell的人，現在開始找替代App或手動排程
舊款、不符Gemini最低需求的裝置，語音助理功能可能直接消失而非「換一個」——先確認你的裝置在不在支援名單

把Google助理換成Gemini方向不意外，對話能力確實更強、能理解的指令更複雜。但這次是「用戶被迫遷移」而非「使用者選擇升級」，官方自己列出的功能缺口一長串，代表現階段Gemini還沒完全補齊十年累積下來的細節功能。如果你重度依賴翻譯模式或家庭排程，建議先手動備份設定再等系統推播，別等到功能突然消失才發現。

Google Assistant starts shutting down on Android phones, tablets, and Wear OS watches from September 4, with Gemini taking over the "Hey Google" wake word and the long-press-power-button shortcut. This isn't an opt-in upgrade — there's no "keep using the old version" toggle, and once a device switches, it can't switch back. The rollout is staggered over several weeks, so you and a friend with the same phone model might get the notice days apart.

Which Devices Are Affected?

Android phones and tablets that meet minimum requirements in supported regions
Wear OS smartwatches
Bluetooth headphones with Google Assistant support
Android Auto via phone projection (phone-projected only, not built-in car systems)

What's Not Changing Yet

Cars with Google built-in, smart speakers, smart displays, and Google TV are untouched in this phase — Google Assistant sticks around on those for now.

What Actually Gets Lost With Gemini

Here's the honest part of this review: Gemini isn't a lossless swap for Google Assistant. Google's own release notes list real feature gaps:

Interpreter Mode (live translation) is gone, with no stated replacement yet
Family Bell scheduled announcements have to be manually rebuilt as Routines
Voice-first Driving Mode has been discontinued
Some smart home routines — especially ones needing follow-up questions or multi-turn triggers — break or stop responding to their trigger phrase after the switch
Bluetooth/AUX-connected car accessories lose voice assistant support entirely

3 Things to Do Before the Switch

Open Google Home and list every routine that relies on Google Assistant triggers, then test each one after switching
If you rely on Interpreter Mode or Family Bell, start looking for a replacement app or manual schedule now
Check whether your older device even meets Gemini's minimum requirements — some devices may lose voice assistant entirely rather than getting a replacement

Kit's Take

Swapping Google Assistant for Gemini was inevitable — conversational ability is genuinely better, and it can parse more complex requests. But this is a forced migration, not an opt-in upgrade, and Google's own list of feature gaps is long enough to show Gemini hasn't fully replicated a decade of Assistant's smaller conveniences. If you lean on translation mode or household scheduling routines, back up your setup manually before the update reaches you — don't wait until a feature silently disappears.
