ChatGPT Health這幾天成為醫療科技圈最熱的話題：OpenAI正式把 ChatGPT Health 接上 Epic 電子病歷系統，讓有權限的醫師直接在對話視窗裡讀取病患資料——Epic 系統掌管全球超過 3.25 億筆病歷，一次整合的規模史無前例。

醫師端能做什麼

這次整合主打「唯讀」，不會把任何內容寫回病歷系統。醫師可以：

在 ChatGPT 裡叫出病歷、檢驗數值、用藥紀錄與專科報告
快速抓出病歷裡的關鍵變化，幫看診前準備
直接在 Epic 工作流程裡叫出 ChatGPT，不用切換視窗

OpenAI 強調對話另外加密隔離，資料不會被拿去訓練基礎模型。試辦醫院是加州 UCSF Health，官方公布的內部測試數字是：4,363 筆醫師評分中，99.1% 的回覆被判定為安全，涵蓋 27 種臨床情境。

隱私爭議：HIPAA 保護還在嗎

數字好看，但隱私團體不埋單。電子隱私資訊中心（EPIC，非同名的 Epic 病歷系統）法律顧問 Sara Geoghegan 直言，病患一旦把病歷分享進 ChatGPT Health，等於讓那份資料脫離 HIPAA 的保護傘——OpenAI 目前也沒說清楚，遇到執法單位要調資料時會怎麼處理，尤其是生殖健康這類敏感紀錄，更該三思。

準確度風波：一場肺栓塞訴訟

同一時間，一名佛羅里達男子在舊金山法院提告 OpenAI，指控 ChatGPT 給出「極度危險的醫療建議」，讓他延誤就醫，肺栓塞惡化。這起訴訟提醒大家：唯讀病歷加上 AI 摘要，不代表 AI 給的判斷就能取代醫師。

ChatGPT Health 的定位很清楚——幫醫師省時間，不是取代醫師。但對一般用戶來說，把病歷丟給 AI 之前，先搞懂資料流向、誰能調閱、出事誰負責，比追新功能更重要。

ChatGPT Health just plugged directly into Epic, the electronic health record system that holds charts for more than 325 million patients — making it the biggest healthcare AI integration announcement this week. Authorized clinicians can now pull patient data straight into a ChatGPT conversation instead of tabbing back and forth through the EHR.

What Clinicians Actually Get

The integration is read-only: it doesn't write anything back into the patient chart. In practice, doctors can:

Pull up labs, medication lists, clinical notes, and specialist reports inside ChatGPT
Get a quick summary of what changed since the last visit
Launch ChatGPT directly from inside the Epic workflow, without switching apps

OpenAI says health conversations run through separate encryption and isolation, and none of it feeds back into training the foundation models. UCSF Health is the pilot partner. OpenAI's own numbers: across 4,363 physician ratings covering 27 clinical use cases, 99.1% of ChatGPT's responses were rated safe.

The Privacy Catch Nobody Loves

That 99.1% number is doing a lot of PR work, but privacy advocates aren't impressed. Sara Geoghegan, senior counsel at the Electronic Privacy Information Center, put it bluntly: once a patient's record moves into ChatGPT Health, it steps outside HIPAA's protection — and OpenAI hasn't said how it would handle law enforcement requests for that data, which matters a lot for anyone sharing reproductive health records.

The Accuracy Problem Is Still There

While this rollout was making headlines, a Florida man sued OpenAI in San Francisco Superior Court, claiming ChatGPT gave him "extremely dangerous medical recommendations" that delayed treatment as his pulmonary embolism got worse. Read-only EHR access doesn't fix the underlying issue: an AI summary is not a diagnosis, and it's not a substitute for a doctor looking at the chart.

ChatGPT Health is built to save clinicians time, not replace them. If you're a patient asked to connect your records, ask first who can see that data, where it lives outside HIPAA, and who's accountable if the AI gets it wrong — that matters more than the feature list.

Good or not, you won't know until you actually try it.
